    Prof. A Abdul Rahman is a well-known and acclaimed environment scientist. He has won the Tamil Nadu Scientists Award (TANSA) in the year 1995 and Environment Award in the year 2000 awarded by Department of Environment, Government of Tamil Nadu and Environmentlist of the year 2005 by National environmental science Academy, Newdelhi. All his field studies and experiments are oriented towards conservation of natural resources and utilization, recycling and management of wastes.He is a wonderful humanist who is all the time occupied in innovative thinking aimed at improving of the quality of human life especially grass root level society. He has several feats to his credit. The following are the field studies/works involved for the past four decades:

  • Biocompost
  • Waste water recycle
  • Research on Mangroves, Sea Turtles
  • Salt Biotechnology
  • Waste land development
  • Human physiognomy (hobby)

He has also undertaken various projects for IIT Madras, FDA Evaluater Forest Department, M/s Taj_Fishcove, M/s Malabar Caterers, Calicut, Other Hotel and Industrial establishments. He had undertaken a number of research projects funded by UGC New Delhi, Ministry of Environment & Forests, New Delhi, ICAR and DST New Delhi. He has visited a number of countries viz USA, European Countries, China , Japan, The Netherlands and UAE apart from Singapore and Malaysia. He holds the ISO 14000 and ISO 18000 certificates. He can guide and advise on any projects of different magnitude.
